Installing new liners with V logo's are a good way to make them look better.

What You Need

The only tools you need are a soldering iron and a door removal tool.

The Installation

1) Remove the factory liner.

2) Position the liner over the factory liner so that you have the V logo exactly where you want it. Then fold the liner in half.

3) Now spray both the factory liner and the new liner. Let this dry for a couple of minutes.

4) Fold the liner back over the factory liner, be careful to press the liner into place exactly where you want it. The material stretches and can be pressed into any shape.

5) Now repeat this on the other half of the liner.
<IMG hspace=0 src="http://www.blackcts-v.com/KB/Attachments/c64fc35e-037

How to install oil catch can

Abstract:
Overview

A catch can is a good way to keep oil from being blown back into your intake manifold. The factory setup is just a loop of tubing to blow the oil into the intake. A catch can will catch this oil.

I used an AMW catch can, but you can buy tubing and air system water filters as a cheaper alternative.

The Installation

There are wires right where the catch can should be so I cut loose the tape on the mount and re-taped it about 3 inches to the right. Here is a picture of the stock cables

Here is a picture with the cable mount moved to the right, which pushes the cable bundle left and out of the way.

Next mount up the AMW bracket using the bolts provided.

Using teflon tape seal up the threaded end of the 2 fitings.

Now mount the catch can in place.

Pull off the stock loopback tube shown here.

Now install the fitings on the catch can.

Finally cut the tubes to fit. Be sure the supply (lower fitting on engine) goes into the top of the can and the return line on the can (lower fitting) goes into the intake on the engine. The pictures below show this.
<IMG hspace=0 src="http://

How to remove and replace stock emblem

Abstract:
Overview

I didn't like the stock CTS emblem so I decided to replace it with an LS6 one. It's an easy install, but here are some tips to make it look good.

The Installation

Here are a couple of pictures of stock.

Tape around the existing emblem so you have a guide for where to place the new one.

Use dental floss to remove old emblem

Wash area before putting on new emblem.

Install new emblem using tape as a guide.

That's it, remove the tape, wash the area off and you are done.

Install a CTS armrest in the CTS-V

Abstract:
Overview

On the CTS-V Cadillac I decided to change the armrest design from the stock CTS design. Turns out the design was for the worse. The CTS-V armrest is too low and doesn't have a storage container. Here is a picture of the CTS-V with stock armrest and a couple of pictures comparing the stock armrest with the CTS armrest.

What You Need

CTS Armrest. You can buy this at your local dealership or from GMPartsDirect.com I bought a black console which is part number 25759213

You'll also need some basic tools, I used 2 small straight blade screwdrivers and a metric 5 allen wrench.

The Installation

1) First slide the front seats all the way forward.

2) Remove the caps on the sides, the CTS-V service manual says you should insert a screw driver at the 6 o'clock position and push to pop the cap off. I found it was easiest to just pry the cap off with a screw driver, it's just held on with pressure fitting (white plastic below).

3) Now pop the leather cover off the armrest. It's pressure fit also so just pul

How to install hub rings

Abstract:
Hub rings are extremely easy to install, so easy that the point of this how to is really just to show some pictures of the installation as requested by email.

When do you need hub rings? The GTO has an odd bolt pattern so it turns out that most after-market rims with the right bolt pattern are actually meant for BMW's. The problem is BMW's use a larger hub. In order to make sure rims fit tightly on the hub a hub ring is used to fill the gap.

Where do I get hub rings? A lot rims come with hub rings if you tell the rim supplier the application when you order. They tend to be cheap plastic ones. I bought the hub rings in this how to from CsiJason on ls1gto.com.

1) Remove the rims/tires. It's likely that the hubs will be rusted.

2) The hub rings have tight tolerances so the hubs need to be cleaned and sanded. It's best to use emery cloth.

3) Once the hub is completely clean I applied a layer of anti-seize. It's brown so it almost looks like rust in this picture.

4) Finally slid the hub ring on. At this point the hub should be the right size to fit the after-market rim perfectly.
